The Bureau of Land Management originally owned the fishing lodge. In 1960, the 5 acres were staked and deeded as a trade and manufacturing site to a Homer, Alaska family who built the original log cabin. The BLM land surrounding the lodge was designated Lake Clark National Park by President Carter in the early 80’s. In 1980, an air taxi owner and guide purchased the property. He built and ran Redoubt as a fishing lodge for a number of years. In 1991, Harold Nye purchased the fishing lodge and continued operations until 1995 when it became a private retreat.

In 1999, an option was secured on the property. Wayne and Jeanie Holm became partners in the deal & Redoubt Mtn. Lodge was purchased in July 2000. The lodge was closed in 2000 while upgrades and renovations were being made.

Wayne Holm is currently the sole proprietor. Ryan & Heather Richards joined the lodge in 2004 & began managing operations in 2006. Together, Wayne, Ryan & Heather take pride in offering guests a premier wilderness facility that will provide you with an unforgettable Alaskan experience!
